چکیده

Existing forwarding strategies for delay tolerant networks aim at network throughput maximization. They provide forwarding opportunities to more reachable destinations. This results in the long endto-end delay and low throughput of less reachable destinations. In this paper, we propose two forwarding strategies to improve the throughput of less reachable nodes with little throughput degradation of more reachable nodes. Evaluation results show that the proposed forwarding strategies can control the levels of fairness among the destinations while maintaining high throughput, compared with the legacy forwarding strategies. key words: delay tolerant network, fairness, forwarding strategy, delivery probability

Energy-Aware Probabilistic Epidemic Forwarding Method in Heterogeneous Delay Tolerant Networks

Due to the increasing use of wireless communications, infrastructure-less networks such as Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) should be highly considered. DTN is most suitable where there is an intermittent connection between communicating nodes such as wireless mobile ad hoc network nodes. In general, a message sending node in DTN copies the message and transmits it to nodes which it encounters. A...

Design an Efficient Community-based Message Forwarding Method in Mobile Social Networks

Mobile social networks (MSNs) are a special type of Delay tolerant networks (DTNs) in which mobile devices communicate opportunistically to each other. One of the most challenging issues in Mobile Social Networks (MSNs) is to design an efficient message forwarding scheme that has a high performance in terms of delivery ratio, latency and communication cost. There are two different approaches fo...

TMHF: Transmit Max Hop First forwarding Strategy to Optimize the Performance of Epidemic Routing Protocol

Delay Tolerant Networks vary from conventional networks in that they have reserve constraints, unbalanced mixture traffic, data redundancy, network dynamics, and energy balance. Moreover due to node mobility DTN suffers from unpredictable connectivity and limited transmission duration. A mobile node in DTN routing may not be able to transmit all messages from its forwarding queue; therefore the...

HUBCODE: hub-based forwarding using network coding in delay tolerant networks

Most people-centric delay tolerant networks have been shown to exhibit power-law behavior. Analysis of the temporal connectivity graph of such networks reveals the existence of hubs, a fraction of the nodes, which are collectively connected to the rest of the nodes. In this paper, we propose a novel forwarding strategy called HubCode, which seeks to use the hubs as message relays. The hubs empl...

Scalable Schedule Routing and Minimizing Delay in Tolerant Networks

There are many routing strategies for message delivery in Delay Tolerant Networks. Among them Multicopying routing strategies have been considered the most applicable DTNs. Epidemic routing and two-hop forwarding routing are the two best approaches of DTN. These two approaches belong to multicopying routing strategies as they allow multiple message replicas to increase message delivery delay. T...
